Footnote: Fieri Facias, or "fi fa" as it is usually abbreviated, is a writ of execution after a judgement is obtained in a legal action for debt or damages. In the 1800's it was usually executed by a sheriff who had the authority to sell goods and property to make good the amount of the judgement against the defendant. |
