This is an unusual Victorian butterdish. It is quite ornate and features a hanging lid and butter knife. It is 13½" in height and has been resilvered. The exterior is in excellent condition, but the butter liner shows pitting. The pitting is due to its exposure to salted butter and not being washed promptly. The manufacturer's mark is Pairpoint #512.
