This is a rare early Victorian wicker sheet music stand that retains the original natural finish. It is a fine example of early Victorian wicker design. This is a unique piece that would be a focal point in any room. The rattan is finely crafted into stick patterns. The top of this piece consists of long arched pieces of rattan that form the handle and provide posts that are embellished with curlicues and decorative cross-wrapping. The shelves are woven mattings. The bottom skirting is very attractive with various lengths of rattan forming a pattern. The piece ends in wood turned feet. This is a wonderful and rare example of Heywood Bros. and Co. early wicker design. |
