Mid sized Victorian cast iron safe made by the Macneale & Urban Co, Hamilton, Ohio. The remains of a beautiful scenic decoration and stenciling are on the front door along with the makers name. Below that are the partial remains of the name of the company the safe was made for. It is hard to make out but we know it was a company in Boston, MA. The interior is in better shape with a wooden drawer and metal door. The inside of the door has the name of the maker and a lovely floral decorative painting. The door comes off when the safe is open to make transporting a bit easier. With the door on it is too heavy for two normal men to lift. This is a very usable safe and we have the working combination - given to the buyer only! Circa: 1870 Dimensions: 29"H x 19"W x 20"D Finish: Worn decoration with surface loss Price: $795.00
