Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian round center table made by Berkey and Gay, Grand Rapids, Michigan. It has a burled top (one section has been replaced) with a lovely inlay in the middle featuring birds, flowers, and a violin. The base and skirt are extensively decorated with incised gilt carvings, black trim, drop finials, carved rosettes, and burled panels. This table is pictured on the cover of "Grand Rapids Furniture" by Christian G. Carron. Grand Rapids was one of the main furniture cities in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century's. This is a fine example by one of the city's most renowned makers! Circa: 1870 Dimensions: 30"H x 27.5" Diameter Finish: Top has been restored and refinished. Base has excellent polished original finish. Some of the gold and black has been touched up. Price: $4350.00
