Eight Drawer Rare Victorian Mahogany Lingerie Chest with a pull out desk section. The top inset marble is original with staining indicative of its age. The beautifully figured mahogany drawer fronts have delicate picture frame moldings around the outside perimeters. All the original wooden knobs are intact with corresponding circular deep finger carved back plates. Notice the fine dovetailing on the drawer sides. The case is sturdy and on the back the panels are chamfered. One drawer front is not dovetailed like the others and we access this to be a simple construction oversight. There is an unusual pull out adorable desk section with four birdseye maple drawers with petite knobs. We inserted a custom dark brown leather writing surface within the original dark red Greek key border. The sides are paneled with picture frame molding. Fine quality throughout, this is a very pretty and usable tall chest!
