Fantastic Kirk Sterling Covered Tureen with a life size fruit and leaf top finial.
It is a work of art from top to bottom with an array of various flowers, ferns, and leaves
in repousse work. The oval top is raised in the center with a delicate border.

The handles
have very unusual ram heads on the ends and the body of the tureen has complementary
silver work to the lid. The lid retains a hint of vermeil wash across the top.
The base is signed "S Kirk & Son Co, 925/1000." This is one of the finest
sterling pieces for period that we offered for sale!
