Handsome Victorian Walnut Two Door Bookcase with the original wonderfully carved and burled crest. The book case has flowers with ferns on either side and the original fancy turned finial on the top. There is a lovely carved burled section under the top surface with notch carvings. There are deep curved carvings around the perimeter of each door with carved flower rosettes in each corner. Notice that there is individual shelving on each side which allows for more choice in shelf adjustment. The base bookcase section steps out with burl front drawers and the original cast brass hardware. A previous owner lined the drawers with contact paper and the drawers are hand dovetailed. There is an old key that locks both doors. The crest comes off and the door section lifts off the base for easy transport.
