Fantastic rosewood Rococo Victorian drop leaf center table. It looks like the work of Alexander Roux but we can't make a definite attribution.

It is certainly New York City made with the detail of the carvings and the satinwood interior wood in the center drawer. This elegant table has a large shaped top with a beaded trim extending around the entire edge. It can either be used with the two leaves up or down. The back of the table is exactly like the front but without the drawer (see photo with leaves down). The skirt has floral carvings and "S" moldings along the base. Notice the beautiful carved leaf supports on the sides! The base is flowing and exuberantly carved in the best of the Rococo tradition! Circa: 1870 Dimensions: 28"H x 60"L (open) 50.5"L (closed) x 33"D Finish: Good polished original finish with a deep rich dark patina Price: $7950.00 |
