with fold out sides that provide interior storage. Notice the top shaping with stylized
carved handles at each end and a center surface. It is beautifully decorated all around
with ebony and gilt incising, assorted ornate scroll carvings, and rosettes. The paneling
around this piece is some of the best. It has recessed and raised burl oval panels that
have exquisite gilt incising with ebony outlines. The original ring hinges are delicately
scrolled and there is one long drawer in the base with a fancy drop pull. The portfolio has pretty open shaped and curved feet with the original brass casters.
