Elegant rosewood Victorian etagere signed (in three places) by Thomas Brooks, New York City. The top has an ornate carved crest with shaped raised panels and four finials on the sides. Under the crest is a concaved shaped faceted hood with a shell carving in the middle. There are three shaped shelves on either side of the central mirror. These are held up by fancy turned supports and have laminated pierce carvings on the bottom of each shelf. A mirror is behind each of the shelves. An original white marble sits on the base. The bottom has a serpentine front drawer and cupboard door with mirror. There is a shelf on each side of the base along with applied carvings. Notice the lovely satinwood secondary wood in the drawer - a sure sign of quality and craftsmanship. This piece has the original cast brass key. All of the mirrors are original with only slight silver loss.
