Rare Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian lockside chest attributed to George Henkels, Philadelphia. It has a lovely original "bubble gum" marble on the top with curved corners. There are six drawers with all burled fronts with a raised shaped border and inset middle. The drawers feature the carved lion mustache pulls that are a trademark of Henkels. The third drawer down has a divider and the drawer bottoms are all made of walnut - a feature often found in Philadelphia furniture. It has a rounded burled bar on the right side of the case that swings open. We have an old brass key for aesthetics but the lock no longer works. This is a great quality Victorian lockside chest by one of the best known Philadelphia makers! Circa: 1870 Dimensions: 54"H x 38.5"W x 23"D Finish: Good original finish Price: $5950.00
