Fabulous rosewood Rococo Victorian fire screen attributed to Alexander Roux. It has a wonderful intricately carved round frame with a carved crest. There is a circular rosewood "tube" that is held above the surface of the round frame by small spindles and elaborate carvings. The crest and carved frame are all indicative of the work of Roux. The middle appears to be a delicate floral embroidery on silk. This is held on the post by a brass ring and threaded screw which fits into a small hole in the rod. The top finial and tripod base are all beautifully carved. A masterpiece! Circa: 1860 Dimensions: 68"H x 22.5"Diameter of frame Finish: Good original with rich patina Price: $4995.00
