Lovely proportioned faux bamboo maple lockside chest attributed to R. J. Horner, NYC. This piece has an original beveled mirror (some silvering loss on back) with a fancy spindled top and returns. There are five drawers in the bottom with the standard R.J. Horner turned bar pulls. The right side has a hinged bar that swings open to release the drawers. The lock is original but we don't have a key that works it. A quarter round faux bamboo molding decorates the edge of each drawer, mirror, top of the chest and side panels. The right side of the chest is a bit darker than the left - it was likely in one spot for a number of years where one side received more light. This chest is a fine example of Victorian faux bamboo furniture in good original finish and nice narrow size! Circa: 1880 Dimensions: 76"H x 31"W x 18"D Finish: Good original Price: $7950.00
