Fabulous walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival canterbury. It
has two open carved decorations on each side of the top. The sides have
shaped raised burled panels with incised carvings. A hand painted porcelain
plaque set within a oval raised molding decorates the middle of each side.
The interior has four open carved shaped dividers. There is a drawer in the
base with an ornate carved pull. The drawer can open to either side.
Pieces with the porcelain plaques are quite rare and highly prized by
collectors. They were mostly made by the better New York City shops.
