Majestic oversized walnut Victorian lockside chest. This piece has a top gallery with returns. The six drawers have raised panels with bookmatched burled walnut fronts and fancy original cast brass pulls. There is a swingout side bar on the right side with flower carving at the top and a lock and key in the middle. This allowed the gentleman to lock the drawers so the maid would not go through his belongings. The sides of the chest are paneled. A lovely chest with plenty of storage room!
