Fabulous rosewood Rococo Victorian cylinder secretary. The top has a chunky deeply carved crest with finials on either side. A molding surrounds each of the shaped glasses on the two doors. The top interior is all beautiful birdseye maple and has two original adjustable shelves. When the cylinder rolls up a lovely desk interior is revealed with seven satinwood drawers and several cubbies. We have gold tooled leather installed for the writing surface. This surface is adjustable to be angled as shown in the photo. It can be slid in and out with the aid of two round inset finger holds on either side of the leather. The lock on the roll and receiving end on the surface are missing. The section on the surface that is missing has been plugged with a piece of rosewood (see photo). There are three drawers above the roll. The middle one is also missing the lock. The base of the secretary has a drawer over two cupboard doors, each with a shaped molding surrounding a recessed panel.
