Lovely Victorian Rosewood Firescreen with open pierced
carved crest supported on a graceful turned frame with top side finials
and four curved legs. The fine original period needlepoint shows a parrot
surrounded by various fruit and flowers - an unusual subject, and very
well done! There is one tiny piece of carving missing on the crest and
a very slight beige area on upper right - indicative of its age.
This is an example of exceptional Victorian needlepoint expertise and
the rosewood grain on the frame is vibrant and rich.
