Incredible solid rosewood (very heavy) partner's flattop desk. This desk has exceptional delicate lion head carvings on the top, drawers, file door and corners. The desk rests on eight large claw feet. The sides and interior of the knee hole have inset panels.

Each side of the desk has the same drawer and file combination. It was once owned by James A. Gary (often referred to as "General Gary"), Postmaster General of the United States under William McKinley. It was passed down in the Gary family until June 2003.
