Magnificent, all original Steinway & Sons piano in a mahogany case. The case is in superb original finish with a decorative line and geometric inlay around the entire case and legs. The grain of the wood is a lovely highly figured mahogany. The works are original and have never been abused. This is the "L" model and the serial number is 304773. Other marks on the works are "NA Q1475." The piano is in good working condition. We had an expert look at it and once it is set up in a home the hammers need regulating - they don't need replacing - and it has to have a general tuning. This piano came from the home of Newark opera diva Georgeanna Bourdon. She starred in the Essex County Opera Company and Newark Civic Opera Company in the late 1930's.

We have a number of original placards advertising her shows. She purchased this piano new c1950 and it was in her home in Newark until her death in July 2003. The original piano chair, also signed "B. & S. Co Steinway & Sons" is being sold with the piano. Pianos are certainly not our specialty but we do know furniture. This is a GREAT case and the maker is the best. Circa: 1950 Dimensions: When top is closed: 28.5"H x 73"W x 59"D Finish: Excellent original Price: $32,000.00 |
