Matched Pair of Plaster Busts in Shadow Boxes Matched pair of Victorian round walnut shadow boxes with original plaster busts in the interior. The woman has a necklace and has a partially legible signature at the bottom. We desaturated the signature in Photoshop to see it better. It appears to be "AOHNAI 1868" The O has a dash in the middle. (see photo). The raised bust of the gentleman has a hairline across the head. They have old paper backings. These are a fascinating pair of Victorian artworks in deep walnut period frames!

Beveled Oak Frame of Napoleon Description: Oval Quartered Oak Ogee Edge Beveled Frame with an old print that is
textured to look like an oil painting. The print is signed "Paul DeLaroche 1845" and shows
Napoleon in his famous portrait pose. DeLaroche is a listed artist in "Davenport's Art
Reference Guide." The frame and print are both in fine original condition and the back
has the original old paper label that reads "Edward A. Walz & Co. Art Shop, Philadelphia PA."

The base features a portfolio box with an inlaid circle of musical instruments set into a burled panel. on academy board. The painting is very competent and the back has
an original label from NYC. It is set into the original gilt
frame. The frame has a rope border around the painting, a red
velvet liner and a very fancy outer rim. The gilt and design is in
quite good original condition with only very minor flaking on the
outer part of the frame. A very decorative painting!

Best Carved Walnut and Oak Frame One of the best Victorian frames we have ever offered for
sale. This is made of solid oak with one inch band of carved walnut in the
middle. The interior carvings are very deep and precisely done. An
original charcoal drawing is in the middle but is quite damaged - you
probably would want to use this to frame a favorite painting or photo. The
back has had some cracks which have been filled. This frame is incredibly
heavy and thick - a magnificent piece!
