Delicately Carved Black Forest Frame Delicately Carved Victorian Walnut Black Forest Oval Frame with open pierced carvings all around the perimeter. The inside rim is all hand carved as branches surrounded by leaves, berries, oak leaves, and acorns. There is some slight chipping on the outside edges and there may have originally been a support arm on the back. Now it is a hanging frame. liner. A peaceful scene depicting a shepperdess leaning on her crook

Naval Art from 1900 Interesting historical naval art from 1900 made by W.A. Klein.
He was on the U.S.S. Albany, a cruiser, on it's tour of the east and the
Philippine-American war in 1900. It is beautifully woven and designed with
a photo of the artist and silk renditions of his ship, an eagle, and a flag. A
great piece of historical art!

Austrian Painting on Porcelain Gorgeous Austrian Victorian painting on porcelain entitled "Der
Fruhling" (Springtime) and signed by the artist in the lower right corner
(see photo). It features two women with two children and a pair of cupids
flying above (a very Victorian subject!). The painting is framed in a
period gilt open carved frame. We carefully removed the back to be able to
show you the writing on it. It is of the same period and quality as the
more common, and collectable, KPM plaques. A great example of Victorian
art!

Small Bronze of Woman and Bird Exquisite French Bronze of a nude woman sitting with her head on her hand and holding a dead bird. She reclines on an oval red marble sculpted base with bronze base trim. (The previous owner put down felt pads under the base) Note the attention to detail
of the woman's braided hair that falls on her shoulder. Signed "Falconnet" on the
edge. This piece retains its fine original patina.

African American Folk Art A fantastic piece of late Victorian African American folk art.
It features four black kids sitting on a fence eating watermelon. The
picture (print) is set into a three dimensional cut out wooden frame, also
in the shape of a watermelon. Pieces from this period depicting
African Americans in stereotypical poses have become quite collectible.
This piece is one of the best we have seen!

Inlaid Walnut Portfolio with Metal Mounts Fabulous Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian portfolio
holder. The top crest features a round metal plaque of a cherub and two
woman supporting the top shelf. These have been repainted and we are unsure
if they are original. The entire frame has all original gilt incised
carvings with black highlights. Some of the black highlights have been
touched up. There is an inlaid panel with flowers, musical instruments and
leaves on both the back of the gallery and the fold out lid. The lid inlay
is set into a recessed burled panel. The lid folds out and is supported by
a chain on each side. There is a raised burled panel on the sides along
with a raised convex incised round medallion. The bottom has slots with
fancy cutouts to separate the sheet music. This piece has all the "bells
and whistles"!

Four Racing Prints by J. F. Herring Sen. Four original large racing prints by J. F. Herring Sen. These beautiful prints were engraved by J. Harris. The prints are numbered by "Forbes National Sports" and are titled "Saddling, The Run In, A False Start, and Returning to ??leigh." Herring (1795-1865) was a British artist specializing in horses and landscapes. The colors are brilliant. They were published in London in 1857. They were framed c. 1900 by Philip Suval, NYC. The oak frames are in original condition. A great set of prints!

Fantastic Hair Art Wreath in Walnut Shadow Bo Fantastic round walnut shadow box with a woven hair wreath
design. This incredible piece is a wonderful work of folk art - probably
taking a woman artist months to complete. It is made of tiny strands of
blond, brown, gray and white hairs with tiny beads used to enhance the
design. It is bordered by an original gilt liner with a white curved inner
rim. There is some dust floating around the inside of the liner. The outer
part is a curved deep walnut shadow box frame. A decorative piece of
Victorian art!

Set of Large French Lithographs Four Large Beautiful French Lithographs (made for the US market) in their
original gilt frames representing the four seasons. Each print shows a young woman
and child elaborately dressed. They are individually titled "Le Printemps/Spring, L' Ete/Summer,
L'Automne/Autumn, L'Hiver/Winter" and have a written patent date of 1854. Each lithograph
is ornately detailed (some fading and discoloration from age, one small tear and one
small corner repair to glass). Each is signed "Lithographie par Julien d'apres Brochart"
with all original backings. A gorgeous complete matching set that would be a spectacular decorative
accent to a Victorian decor!
