Fancy Griffin Coal Grate Fancy Griffin Coal Grate made out of a combination of
white metal and iron (extremely heavy). There is open pierced work all around with two
open mouthed griffins on each side. In their mouths are the support rods to the
sides. The griffins are especially well done with scrolling, bulbous chests, and knuckled
claw feet. The front and top back (centers) have corresponding scrolled cartouches.
There are wheels on the back to easily roll forward and backward to empty and
there is a center slotted insert to also aid in the cleaning. A delightful Victorian accessory!

Bradley and Hubbard Dolphin Andirons Rare pair of early twentieth century brass andirons signed "B
& H 9512." An identical pair can be seen in the Smithsonian Institution
Castle Collection of fire tools and andirons at Smithsonian Institution web sight.
The pair that we have is in brass with iron fire dogs whereas the ones in the
collection are all iron. They have a very attractive design. Bradley and
Hubbard from Meriden Connecticut was one of the foremost turn of the century
creators of unusual brass designs along with their exceptional lamp
offerings.

Gorgeous Rococo Victorian rosewood firescreen Gorgeous Rococo Victorian rosewood firescreen. The entire
frame is a series of "S" and "C" scroll carvings with a carved crest and
open carved bottom. The frame houses a lovely original needlepoint with a
hawk in a garden with flowers and trees. There is some very minor
discoloration, as one would expect, of the needlepoint but the overall
design and pattern is very much intact. A lovely firescreen in remarkably
well preserved original condition!

Victorian Rosewood Firescreen with Parrot Lovely Victorian Rosewood Firescreen with open pierced
carved crest supported on a graceful turned frame with top side finials
and four curved legs. The fine original period needlepoint shows a parrot
surrounded by various fruit and flowers - an unusual subject, and very
well done! There is one tiny piece of carving missing on the crest and
a very slight beige area on upper right - indicative of its age.
This is an example of exceptional Victorian needlepoint expertise and
the rosewood grain on the frame is vibrant and rich.

The leaded glass forms an attractive pattern with a number of cut bulls eye,
aqua, and clear colored glass. The frame is heavy as you would expect of
bronze. There are some normal hairline cracks in the glass. The leaded
center has been reinforced and the glass has some bowing to it. A very
decorative screen!
