Cut Glass Decanter with Stopper Unsigned brilliant cut glass Victorian period decanter with
stopper. It is a similar pattern to a plate by C.G. Alford & Company shown
on page 45 of "American Brilliant Cut Glass" by Bill and Louise Boggess. It
consists of a number of hobstars and crosshatching in the design. It has
very deep cutting in a heavy crystal blank. The form is quite interesting.
It is relatively narrow rather than round. A lovely piece with very good
cutting!

Hawkes Russian Pattern Cut Compote Gorgeous unsigned Hawkes Brilliant cut glass Victorian compote
in the Russian pattern. This pattern is photographed and described on pages
42 and 43 of "American Brilliant Cut Glass" by Bill and Louise Boggess. In
that book the authors say that "Russian is the most intricately cut and possibly
the best known of all patterns. Phillip McDonald, who designed it, assigned
the patent to Hawkes on June 20, 1882." This piece has a broad shallow
bowl supported by a wide based pedestal. It has very sharp cutting into a
heavy crystal form. It has a great shape in one of the most popular
patterns!

Finish: Excellent cutting with no major flaws. VERY minor nicks on the base
(very typical)

Cut Glass Canoe A brilliant period cut glass dish in the form of a canoe. It
has a hobstar design. A previous owner installed six small felt pads on the
bottom which we could easily remove if you wish. A similar form in a
different pattern is shown on page 62 of "American Brilliant Cut Glass" by
Bill and Louise Boggess. This is a very rare and collectable form!

with a shaped applied handle with deep cutting. The mold is wonderful
quality and heavy. The base has an unusual squat
shape with deep circular cuttings into the perimeter (see photo).
This is both an unusual size and pretty form!

Romantically Inscribed Cut/Sterling Pitcher Lovely Gorham Sterling and Cut Glass Pitcher with beautiful
floral work on the collar of silver. Inscribed in script, "Louie to Blanche
Apr. 18th 1899. " It also has hallmarks on the back (see photos). The cutting
is simple and elegant with a graceful applied handle with notch cutting
(very slight wear indicative of age). A delightful, romantic keepsake from the late
Victorian era.

Matched pair of intaglio cut glass compotes Fantastic matched pair of intaglio cut glass compotes. We
believe they are in the "Grapes" pattern by Sinclaire. For a similar example
see page 18 in "American Brilliant Cut Glass" by Bill and Louise Bogges.
These compotes were cut from extremely heavy molds and have a bubble in the
stems. There is a deep cut star in the middle and other cutting along the
inside of the rims. Some great and rare pieces of brilliant cut glass.
