Impressive Renaissance Revival Etagere Impressive Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian hooded
etagere. The crest has raised shaped burled panels with a carved
bust in
the middle of the cartouche. The arched central mirror is flanked
on both
sides by four other shaped mirrors. The mirrors are original with old
"diamond dust". There are three shaped shelves on each side with open
carved supports. The white marble on the base is original. There
is a
drawer on the bottom with a carved pull. The frame is decorated
with raised
burled panels. The underside of the hood, shelves and base feature
a very
highly figured burl. There is some very minor veneer chips in the
base. A
very lovely etagere!

Unusual small size walnut etagere
Unusual small size walnut Victorian etagere. It has five
graduated and shaped shelves held up by open carved supports. The top crest
is all open carved with an original oval mirror in the middle. This is a
very attractive piece that is small enough to fit comfortably in any

Lovely Packard Carved Walnut Etagere Lovely Victorian walnut etagere signed "P. F. Packard and
Sons, Boston" inside the center drawer. It has an impressive heavily carved
top crest with open carved leaves. There is a central arched mirror with
three smaller shaped mirrors on either side. The mirrors appear to be all
original with only very minor silver loss. Three graduated shaped shelves
with pierce carved supports adorn each side. The shelf on the bottom left
side has some dark staining. The base has the original shaped white marble
and a drawer with two carved pulls in the bottom. Shaped burled panels
decorate the entire piece. A stunning etagere by a known maker!

Rare Belter rosewood Rococo etagere Rare rosewood Rococo Victorian etagere made by John Henry
Belter, NYC. This piece has a lovely carved crest (note: there is a
horizontal 4" crack in the top crest - see photo) and step in platform base.
There is a central arched mirror as well as mirrors on the sides. The
mirrors are original and in exceptionally good condition with traces of
"diamond dust" near the bottoms. Shaped shelves decorate the sides - two of
which have the original marble tops (some staining to the marbles). The
tops and bottoms of the shelves have a very fancy pierce carved laminated
rosewood trim around tops and bottoms. Double open carved supports hold up
the two marble shelves. Two similar etageres can be seen on pages 148 and
76 of American Furniture of the 19th Century by Eileen and Richard Dubrow.
The marble top bottom shelves and laminated trim is a trademark of Belter's
work. At only 84" tall it is small enough to fit in any house - unlike most
other great ones made in this period. A great etagere by America's foremost
Rococo period cabinet makers!

The entire piece is decorated with lovely original gilt
decoration, fluting, turned finials, fluting and incised and applied
carvings. There is a fancy open carved crest on top. Underneath this
hooded top is a central shaped mirror with three mirrors and shaped shelves
on each side. This top portion rests on an original white marble (some
minor staining). The base has a drawer and mirrored door cabinet flanked by
a recessed shelf on each side with mirrors behind. A stunning piece!

Lovely Victorian brass etagere Lovely Victorian brass etagere. This piece features fancy open
brass decoration and finials. There are six beveled glass shelves on the
bottom and three fancy marble shelves on the top with caramel and white
highlights. The top sits on six ornate curved feet. The back is dated 1887
(see photo). We have never had one of these brass shelves before with a
date. It was polished in the recent past.

There are three graduated shaped shelves on each side of the central triple
arched mirror. The shelves are held up by cutout supports and spindles and
have mirrors behind the top two. There is a serpentine shaped drawer on the
bottom with a carved pull. This piece retains much of it's original gilt
highlights. We seldom see the gilt on etageres. There is a slight crack
in the bottom center panel. A very fancy and graceful piece of modest size
and proportions!

Hooded Etagere with massive carved crest that features raised
burl, lovely hanging finials, full length mirror with shaped
shelves on either side, pierced carved shelf supports,
original cut corner marble, a burled drawer, and original fancy
brass hardware. We replaced a couple base moldings. Notice
there are three side shaped mirrors and the lowest panel is
framed burl walnut. A most impressive etagere!

Fabulous Rococo Mitchels Rammelsberg etagere Fabulous walnut Rococo Victorian etagere attributed to
Mitchels & Rammelsberg Cincinnati, Ohio. This piece features an elaborate
open naturalistically carved frame with clusters of grapes, vines and leaves
surrounding an oval mirror with shaped shelves on each side. Notice the
heavily carved shelf supports holding up the bottom two side shelves. This
piece has an original wood top and a serpentine shaped drawer with fine
figured wood grain and carvings on the front. The sides of the base are
also shaped. The legs have a nice curved and have clumps of nuts on the
knees. A rare piece in original "as found" condition!

ornate top crest is open carved with fruit and flowers with a three
dimensional carved head in the middle. The central mirror is flanked by
four shaped shelves on each side with mirrors behind each shelf and open
carved supports on the sides. Notice the fancy open gingerbread carvings
around the mirror itself. A full length shaped marble is on the bottom.
The six feet are beautifully carved. Rococo etageres of this quality and
good original condition are hard to find!
