Rosewood Victorian Marble Top Commode Rare rosewood Rococo Victorian commode with an original fancy
white marble (some normal slight staining) top. There is a narrow pull out
on the left side and a wider one on the right (see photos) - a most unusual
feature we haven't seen before. The serpentine front has profuse carvings
(some replaced) on the sides, drawer and cupboard door. There is a shaped
shelf inside the cupboard. We have a key for the door. We seldom obtain
rosewood commodes and this one is of superb quality and design!

Outstanding Renaissance Revival Full Commode Outstanding Large Victorian Walnut Renaissance Revival Full Commode
with one of the tallest, original backsplashs we have seen! The original finish is especially
warm and rich, and the doors have a very unusual inset shape with fine quality burl and
fancy center plaques. The plaques have a shield shape with delicate incising and more
lovely burl on the fronts. The brass hardware is original. The side stiles are beautifully
designed with more incised carvings and raised burl. From top to bottom, this extra
large commode is a fine example of American Renaissance Revival!

Petite Cookie Corner Half Commode Petite Victorian Walnut Cookie Corner Half Commode with
the original white marble, all in wonderful original condition throughout.
See photo that shows the craftsmanship to the dovetailing on the top.
The side stiles have unusual bulbous etched turnings with finial tips on the top
and bottom. The drawer has a lovely three dimensional wooden pull.
The door and drawer have raised burl panels and the original turn knob pull
on the door. Notice how the base shape corresponds with the top cookie
corner form. This is adorable Victorian piece in mint condition!

Outstanding Renaissance Revival Half Commode Outstanding Victorian Renaissance Revival Walnut Half Commode
with original white cut corner marble top and nicely carved incised drawer pull
on a raised shaped burl panel. A corresponding larger burl panel is on the front of
the door with an accentuated wooden knob with tiny finial tip. The stiles are especially
well done with more fine raised burl panes, rosettes, and long drops that are all decorated
with incising. Notice how all the burl panels match with delicately cut edges. In fine original finish,
this large beautiful half commode has exceptional quality and form.

Marble Top Victorian Commode Very clean all original walnut Victorian commode. It features a lovely original white rounded corner marble with high curved back and horizontal shelf with supports. There are two small stains in an otherwise flawless marble. The top drawer has two bookmatched raised burled panels, original teardrop pulls, and a fancy carved key escutcheon. There are raised burled panels on the doors and two off set shelves in the interior of the cupboard (see photo). Years ago these used to be fairly plentiful but we have not been able to find any in this nice original condition to offer for sale in the last couple of years.

Kingman & Murphy Rosewood Half Commode Victorian Rosewood Half Commode with the original cookie corner
marble top, finished all around, and lovely birdseye maple interior in the drawer.
The side stiles have three dimensional scrolled carvings and delicate vibrant cross banding.
Both the drawer and door have intricate cross banding on the interiors of the picture
framed moldings. There is a nicely turned shaped wooden knob on the drawer and the original paper label under the marble top
reads "Kingman & Murphy, Cabinet Furniture,
93 Bleeker Street, New York." The marble
has a few slight age stains.

Elegant Early Rosewood Half Commode Elegant Early Victorian Rosewood Half Commode with the original
modified cookie corner white marble with beveled edge. The commode is finished
all around with delicate picture framed panels and a gorgeous satinwood interior
in the drawer (the sign of exceptional workmanship). The corners are rounded and
correspond with the shape of the marble top. The two front feet are quite unusual
with recessed double beveled rounded corners and a shaped foot. The rosewood
grain is wonderfully vibrant and the finish has been lightly polished.

Renaissance Victorian Half Commode with Onyx Fine quality walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival half
commode. This piece features a most unusual beautiful original onyx top.
The top section is a supported by four shaped fluted columns. There is a
drawer on top and a cupboard in the bottom. There are raised shaped burled
panels on the drawer, door and cut corners. Some of the corner burl is
chipped. The drawer has an original tear drop pull. All corners have
carvings and the back is finished. It has the original brass castors. This
is an unusual style for a half commode from this period and the onyx is an
added bonus!

Three Piece Suite Made by John A. Ellis Super walnut Victorian bedroom suite made by John A. Ellis, East Cambridge, Ma. (original label is inside drawer - see photo). The suite includes a writing table, half commode, and dresser with original white marble tops (some normal staining on the marbles). Each piece features raised burled drawer fronts with ornately carved pulls. Ellis used black trim on many of the moldings to give contrast. This original decoration is mostly intact. The dresser has a secret drawer in the bottom and two jewelry boxes on top of the marble. There are also two covered compartments on the inside of the top drawer (see photo). Both the dresser mirror and desk have interesting open carved sides. The dresser mirror has candle cups on each side and a large carved crest. It is most unusual to have the desk as part of one of these suites. This is a great signed suite in good original condition.

Pair of Rococo Victorian Rosewood Twin Beds Matched pair of fine quality rosewood Rococo Victorian "twin" beds. Actually, they are 44"W x 78.5" long between the rails which is quite a bit longer than standard twin. They have a gorgeous profile with extensive carvings on the sides of the head and foot boards and wide rails with extra high returns at both ends. They are held together with sturdy iron bed bolts. The flat portions of the head and foot board exhibit the exceptional grain of the rosewood, showing why it is so popular and desirable. These are a wonderful elegant pair of beds!

Signed Boston Victorian Half Commode Fine quality walnut Victorian half commode signed "Buckley & Bancroft Furniture, Boston" inside top drawer. It has the original white cookie corner marble on top (some very minor stains to marble). The drawer pull and top of the door has lovely intricate carving. The bottom front board, drawer, and door all have beautiful burled fronts. There is a shelf in the interior of the cupboard. We seldom find half commodes that are signed!

Faux Bamboo Vanity with Mirror Lovely birdseye maple faux bamboo Victorian vanity. The original beveled mirror has an elaborate supporting structure with bamboo turnings and circles in the base and the returns. There are two drawers on top over a longer drawer - each with original wooden pulls. There is a slight stain on the surface. The legs and cross stretchers are all made of faux bamboo. Notice how the side panels, mirror frame, and drawer fronts are all decorated with quarter round bamboo turnings. Most of such pieces were made by R.J. Horner, NYC but there is no label on this one. The style is highly prized by collectors!

Centennial Carved Mahogany Vanity Fabulous mahogany Centennial vanity. The oval mirror is supported by a wonderful serpent carved harp. A carved gadrooned edge surrounds the surface. The base has a center drawer and two side drawers each of which is shaped with lovely grain on the front and crystal pulls. There is carving above the knee hole. The vanity sits on cabriole legs with carved knees and ball in claw feet. There are some normal slight wood separations in the top and sides. A very stylish and well carved vanity!

Oval Adjustable Shaving Mirror Fancy walnut Victorian shaving mirror with an original grayish-brown marble top. The oval mirrored top has incised carvings, raised burled panels and two applied round buttons. The mirror can be adjusted up or down. The adjusting knob on the back has been restored. There are two drawers below the marble. One has a small porcelain pull and the other opens with a key. The entire base features open carvings, incised carvings, and raised burled panels. A wonderful Victorian accent piece!
