ENWRIGHT HARBOR SCENE
A nice little harbor scene by J. J. Enwright, 8x10, oil on board, signed lower right.The artist was born in Boston in 1905 and studied in Boston and New York City. He made his home in New Hampshire but spent summers in Gloucester and Provincetown. He is known for his harbor and ship paintings.

Reflections by James King Bonnar(1885-1961) oil on canvas 16 x 21 1/2 titled by the artist. signed LR Jas. King Bonnar. He was born in North Adams, MA and lived in Newtonville, MA. He was a member of the Rockport school of artists and was known for his marine paintings as well as his landscapes. He exhibited for many years at the North Shore Arts Assocition as well as the Rockport Art Association. This colorful fall scene was probably painted in New Hampshire.

La Grande Duchesse by Jules A. Guillet signed and dated 1899 , oil on board,16 1/2 x 28 La Grande Duchesse was christened January 30, 1896. In 1901 she was renamed City of Savannah and in January 1906 she was sold to the New York and Puerto Rico Steamship Company who renamed her the S.S.Carolina. She was sunk by a German U-Boat (U-151) on June 2, 1918

Schooner under Full Sail American Oil on Board 18 x 22 This painting of an American two masted schooner under full sail is painted on academy board with a Frost and Adams (Boston) label verso. It is signed illegibly lower right. From the label we would place this as a second half of the 19th century work. A nice clean well executed painting.

A Mountain Stream 10 x 14 oil on board. An excellent well executed painting signed lower right. We have been unable to decipher the signature, however. This is a lovely, clean well composed painting obviously done by a gifted artist. Probably 20th century.

Winter Sea by Stanley Woodward(1890-1970) 20 x 24 signed lower right, oil on board. Stanley Wingate Woodward was a Rockport school painter of marine subjects. He is the author of several books on marine painting. He exhibited widely and is represented in collections at the Boston Museum of Fine Art, Bowdoin College, Amherst College, University of Michigan, Fort Worth Museum of Art, etc.

"Winter Sea" an oil painting by the Canadian artist John Cook, 30 x 40, oil on board, signed lower left. Titled on the back: Winter Sea (Portuguese Cove) February 1970. Portuguese Cove is on the south shore of Nova Scotia near Halifax. This is a beautiful painting capturing the nature of the Atlantic coastline in winter. The painting is in excellent condition, in very clean condition, no damage or inpainting.

"Edward D. Jewett
"The Edward D. Jewett" attributed to William Yorke. 20 x 32, oil on canvas. Built in St. John, New Brunswick in 1871. Attached documentation indicates the three-masted barque was 787 tons, 175 feet long. The ship was last listed in Lloyd's Register in 1895-96. In excellent clean condition.
