Manufacturer: CHADBURN BINNACLE REPEATER ENGINE ROOM TELEGRAPH Designed for the communication between the bridge and engine control room, shifting the handle of the telegraph on the bridge would send a corresponding signal to the engine room for adjustment of the speed and direction of the engines.It's bell rings out when the handles are shifted. This authentic telegraph was made in LIVERPOOL by either J W RAY CO…or CHADBURN. This type telegraph has been sold in antique houses for $10-$12k. This engine room telegraph is fully functional 2-sided two-handle telegraph. The item is all brass, weight is approximate 90 lbs.- height 47 inches- face diameter 16-1/4 inches- base diam. 12 inches. UN-KNOWN AS TO WHAT SHIP IT CAME OFF. On one side of the unit the glass is CRACKED AND SOME FADDING OF THE LETTERS IN THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE TELEGRAPH.Other than that it’s in excellent condition. We do not know the year of manufacture.
