WE BELEIVE IT IS CIRCA 1890-1910. THE FOUR DOORS HAVE THICK HAND BEVELLED GLASS PANELS WITH QUARTER SAWN OAK FRAMES. BOTH SIDES OF THE BOOKCASE ARE FINISHED WITH RECESSED FLAT PANELS. FLUTED COLUMNS GRACE BOTH CORNERS AS WELL AS THE CENTER. THE FINE DENTAL MOLDING IS ONE PEICE OF A 7 PEICE CROWN MOLDING. A 1 1/2" HIGH COLONIAL BASE MEETS THE FLOOR. THE INSIDE OF THE DRAWERS ARE 13 X 26 (LEFT) & 13 X 29 1/2 (RIGHT) THEY ARE 6" DEEP. THE DRAWER SIDES ARE 7/8" THICK. SINGLE BOARD BOTTOMS ARE HAND CHAMFERED.<p>
THE BOOKCASE COMES WITH 8 ORIGINAL PINE SHELVES (OAK EDGE TRIM) AND 10 GLASS SHELVES , 2 ARE MIRRORS. A PAIR OF 5 LIGHT HALOGEN FIXTURES ARE MOUNTED TO THE CEILING IN EACH SIDE.THE TOP OF THE BOOKCASE IS FLUSH WITH THE TOP OF THE CROWN. THE BACKS OF EITHER SIDE ARE 3 WIDE PINE/ELM BOARDS. It has gorgeous Bronze mounted ormolu decorations AND has been inlaid with several types of fine wood Parquetry and marquetry flower basket in the Gracious serpentine door and side columns including the base trim.
It also has a beautiful Bombay serpentine curved front and sides with a grained black marble top with white streaks.
Dating this item around the late 1800’s to the early 20th century.
Single marquetry cabinet door which opens to a deep interior functional storage space and a fitted shelf.
Condition… Normal traces of use and age. It retains all of its original hardware.Hinges, delicate Floral Knobs, and Scrolling Trim and Figures.

Antique bookcase/cabinet-on-frame in solid mahogany and in the classical Chippendale style on a Chippendale base frame in a very rare form of bookcase on frame.
Richly hued mahogany with excellent graining, particularly on the drawers, with an added veneer band of darker flame grained wood near the cornice that highlights the dramatic classical look.
All the window glass panes appear original, good early seeded glass.
Measures 61 1/2 inches tall X 51 1/2 inches wide X 15 1/4 inches deep
