beadboard/wainscotting paneled back and there are grooves to support your plates on the three shelves and the surface top.

This piece has a molded crown over shaped frieze and configuration of shelves, on lower part with four drawers and scrolling skirt with barley twisted legs. Due to the age of this piece there is the normal shrinkage crack across top surface, wear consistent with age.

She retains an old mustard paint in the interior of the drawers.

The Superior interior of this desk is beautifully crafted by hand with a dovetailed case ending in a Chippendale bracket foot.
She also has a Leather-writing surface with 4 graduated drawers and chestnut backing..
This fine Desk is in excellent condition.

Up for sale is this EXQUISITE FRENCH MAHOGANY VERNIS MARTIN CYLINDER DESK or LADIES WRITING DESK that is in superb original condition.
This piece is a late 1800’s… 19th century (1870-1910) desk that features its original hand painted surfaces and original patina to the bronze ornaments.
She 61 inches tall-31 ½ inches wide-19 inches deep.
She has a beveled glass mirror in the center with gilded bronze ornaments on the gallery standing on turned reeded tapering legs.
The desk leather-writing surface pulls out when the cylinder is open and exposes the fine interior with drawers and cubbyholes.
Most importantly, She also has the original hand painted scenes that are in very good original condition.
There are 2 separate keys that lock the drawers and one for the cylinder door.
