This White Ironstone pitcher has a lovely graceful melon ribbed shape and a wonderful embossed floral pattern on both sides of the bottom of the handle. Both sides of the top of the handle and the front of this ewer have a pattern of large embossed leaves accented with a flower bud both under and as a thumb rest on the handle. The top rim of this ewer is scalloped with a bordered band.

A Stunning Antique White Ironstone Pitcher

Back stamp is impressed and dates tis piece to the 1860's

This antique pitcher is in very good condition no cracks or chips or crazing. The pattern is sharp and clear. There are some minor flaws original to the potting. There is a spot of cobalt inside the spout. Cobalt was used by the English potters to create the blue/white color that was so desired in this antique pottery. There is a glaze rub at the base of the handle of about 3/4 inch and a tiny 1/4 inch clay separation on the handle as well as some tiny specks of clay dust. The handle has a delightful flower bud thumb rest


Back stamp is shown and dates this pitcher to c.mid 1877.

It is in very good condition no cracks or chips or crazing. There is a one half inch separation in the flower on the handle most likely original to the potting - see pictures.

The crazing lines seen on the bottom of this ewer do not appear on the inside.

This pitcher is in great antique condition!.

It stands about 12 3/4 inches high.

The glaze is bright and shiny and the embossing is sharp and clear.

This 19 century English white ironstone gravy pitcher has a lovely graceful shape with a pedestal base and long spout. It is embossed as a tribute to Great Britain with a rose for England, a thistle for Scotland and a shamrock for Ireland on both sides of the handle.

This white ironstone gravy pitcher is in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips - there is overall crazing without discoloration. The shamrock potion of the embossing is not very clear - see pictures.
