The impressed back stamp is shown and dates this piece to 1864.

This White Ironstone Covered Tureen is in very good condition with the only flaw being a tiny one on the outside rim of the bowl - see picture.

There are also a few tiny specks of kiln dust inside the bowl and a bit of very light discoloration on the bottom rim of the lid - see pictures.

This English White Ironstone Covered Tureen is really in very good condition - it is the desired bluish white and the glaze is bright and shiny.

It stands a little over 10 inches with the lid and the bowl measures about 9 1/2 inches at the top.

This White Ironstone Tureen has a special embossed floral pattern - forget me not - covering a large portion of both the bowl and lid.

The finial is an elegant flower.

Back stamp is shown and dates this pitcher to the late 1800's.

This English White Ironstone tureen is in very good condition with only minor flaws. On the lid - a stain on the under side of the lid of about 1 1/4 inches - a tiny bit of rust on the finial - a small (less than 1/4 inch ) scrape on the edge of the lid. On the bowl - some wear / roughness on both handles.

It measures about 11 3/4 inches across including the handles.

This White Ironstone tureen has a chip of about 1/2 inch mostly on the underside of one handle which tends to be lost in the handle detail - see pictures. There is also a faint hairline of about an inch on the edge of the lid - too faint to picture.

Early English Antique White Ironstone Covered Tureen

This white ironstone tureen has a curved panel design creating a special shape to the bowl ending with an eight sectioned scalloped pedestal base and also a scalloped top rim. The lid repeats this curved panel pattern and is topped with an artichoke finial.

There is an impressed bottom stamp that is barely readable which dates this piece to c.1855.

This English White Ironstone covered tureen has several flaws but even with these flaws it is a special piece of antique ironstone.

The lid has 2 small pieces of kiln debris on the edge. The bowl has a 5/8 inch chip to the bottom of one of the scallops at its base. There is also a discolored split in the seam of about 1 1/2 inch which is not seen on the inside. The inside rim of the bowl has several chips which also have some discoloration. There is also a very small flake to the outside rim of the bowl. The outside of the bowl has some cobalt splotches. These flaws are pictured.

The glaze is bright and shiny and the pattern is sharply defined.

The finial is an outstanding pear on a branch with leaves.

This white ironstone sauce tureen is in very good condition no cracks or chips or crazing. There is some scattered kiln dust, the stilt marks are visible inside the tureen and there is some glaze wear on the handles resulting in some light discoloration.

This 19 century English White Ironstone tureen has a lovely shape and an embossed pattern of leaves and berries flowing around the handles and finial.

There is an impressed mark on the bottom that is faint and not readable.

This white ironstone tureen is in very good condition no cracks or crazing. There is a bit of scattered kiln dust and some glaze wear on the handles resulting in some light discoloration. There is a 1/4 inch chip on the underside of the lid on the inner rim that appears to be glazed over.

Even with these minor flaws this white ironstone tureen is a beauty!
