"THE START" and "THE STRUGGLE" Jacquard loom woven silk pictures, Stevengraphs are Victorian silk pictures that became popular in 1862 when they were first produced by Thomas Stevens of Coventry, England. They covered many popular subjects of the day and among the most popular are scenes of horsemanship. Stevens continued to produce them in his factory until his death in 1888 and the business continued under 2 of his sons and were popular until WWI. We offer two in their original ebonized and brass frames with their original mats, 11" X 9" overall, 5" X 7" sight size, in very good original condition, $245.00 each.
