Set of four together with a nearly identical pair, urn back Hepplewhite side chairs, Connecticut, circa 1790-1805, the four are mahogany and the pair are cherry with mahogany stain, chairs of this design are associated with Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts, these chairs are probably of Hartford or New London County origin, for additional information see "Connecticut Valley Furniture", Kugelmam, "New London County Furniture 1640-1840", Lyman Allyn Museum, "Fine Points Of Furniture", Albert Sack, and "American Furniture Of The Federal Period", Charles Montgomery.
